The Pine Garden is a boutique bakery with more than 40 years of experience. What began as a humble bakehouse for the people of Ang Mo Kio has since captured the hearts of people across Singapore. Here’s a closer look at our tradition, ambition and—of course—our cakes:
A Modern Tradition
Our baking techniques are rooted deep in our tradition. We’ve always been known for inducing nostalgia through baked goods that remind people of old-school Singapore. With that said, we also make it a point to evolve with the times.
We have since introduced more creative techniques to our craft, experimenting with new flavours and designs. This has helped us craft uniquely popular cakes like:

The Pulut Hitam Cake is a modern twist on a local, traditional dessert. This sponge cake is infused with pulut hitam bits, giving it a unique chewy texture. Embedded between the soft sponge is more pulut hitam layered with fresh cream.
It is then topped generously with even more pulut hitam because there’s no such thing as too much pulut hitam.

Durians were adopted as part of our food culture many years ago. Singaporeans have since found countless ways to incorporate the fruit into various dishes. Our Mao Shan Wang Durian Cake is another rendition of this popular fruit.
The vanilla sponge cake is layered Mao Shan Wang durian pulp, the most premium of all durian strains. It is then topped with mini durian puffs to enhance that all so loved (or hated) durian flavour.

Innovating Heritage
Heritage plays a large role in what we do. Singapore is known for its diverse culture which also translates into distinct food. This has given rise to all sorts of unique foods and ingredients which we have incorporated into our cakes.
It is our innovative way of preserving heritage while embracing creativity. This includes:

Lychee played a part in our heritage too. The century-old lychee tree preserved in Novena is a heritage tree that symbolises the connection between the fruit and Singapore. On that note, our Lychee Martini Cake is a modern tribute to a familiar local flavour.
It is light, fluffy and filled with lychee fillings, making it one of our most popular cakes!

Kopi culture has been part of Singapore’s heritage for decades. Whether you were a kid following your parents to the coffee shop or an adult catching up with friends, the aroma of brewed Kopi has always been familiar.
Our O’School Kopi Cake is a homage to this everyday tradition. The chiffon base is infused with locally roasted coffee, replicating the taste of traditional Nanyang Kopi.

There’s two ends of the spectrum when it comes to heritage drinks in Singapore; coffee and Milo. Milo is the much sweeter option that is loved for its malted flavour. Our Milo Konglong Espresso Cake is a nostalgic rendition of this iconic drink.
The base is a soft, moist chocolate sponge layered with Milo cream. The cake is also served with Milo kosong gao, allowing you to sprinkle it over the top for that signature “dinosaur” effect.
The Bottom Line
Our cakes blur the line between culture and modernism, giving rise to a plethora of unique creations. The cakes mentioned above are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to our full range of cakes. So don’t forget to visit pgcake.com or contact 6457 6159 to find out more!
